Interview With Jarrod Of The Peeping Toms

Jarrod Cunningham of The Peeping Toms

Bama Bands: Where are you from?

P.T: Sylacauga, Alabama.

Bama Bands: What is your background? (Who are you and your band members? Tell your story.)

P.T: Were just some guys from a small town that started a band together about 9 years ago. There are only two original members left, Tom Harmon and Jarrod Cunningham. We never thought of being a large rock band or anything and in the past two years we've accomplished a lot. In the beginning we just played around local bars and never traveled anywhere. Here lately we've only been playing in other cities and have been able to play some great venues such as the Blue Iguana and Chestnut Station just to name a couple. We've also opened for some large acts such as: Brother Cane, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Brian Howe from Bad Company, Kentucky headhunters, Foghat, and most of all, the Allman Brothers. We only hope the next few years are as good as the last few have been.

Bama Bands: For those who have not heard you, what type of music do you play?

P.T: We are a variety cover band meaning we cover everything from some of the 70's stuff, allot of 80's glam rock, and even 90s and radio play music

Bama Bands: Who are your musical influences?

P.T: We all enjoy everything, but growing up in the 80s, were all partial to stuff like Skid Row, Poison, Motley Crue and so on.

Bama Bands: Have your influences changed since you started playing?

P.T: I think we all have broadened our horizons of taste and appreciation if for nothing more to be able to cover some music that may not be our favorite

Bama Bands: How long has each member been making music?

P.T: All of us have been in some way or another involved in music for at least 15 years, but Tom has been in bands since he was about 17.

Bama Bands: What was your first ever experience on stage and how did that make you feel?

P.T: It's a rush that can't be explained !!!!!

Bama Bands: What has been your best show so far?

P.T: Opening up for Brian Howe a few years ago on a very large scale stage with a huge light and sound production company taking care of all of the in's and out's

Bama Bands: Any embarrassing moments?

P.T: The first time I ever tried to sing in a band situation I panicked and nothing came out of my mouth !!!!! It didn't stop me though.

Bama Bands: which one is the clown of the band?

P.T: All of us in our own way and on any night... you just never know what will happen at one of our shows.

Bama Bands: which one of you is more serious?

P.T: In the same aspect we are all serious, we all have professional jobs that require it and we bring that professionalism into every show

Bama Bands: Where do you guys see yourself in a year?

P.T: I can only hope that things will keep getting better each show, each month, and we are a larger scale band.

Bama Bands: What's in your CD player right now?

P.T: Mainly 80s music.

Bama Bands: Would you like to add anything?

P.T: we are working on some original music and hope to be playing some of it at our shows sometime soon.

BamaBands: Thank You For This Interview

P.T: Thanks Carla, The Peeping Toms
